How to play

Continue playing after 2048 if you want to chase higher scores

Aim for the corners - Keep your highest tile in a corner (usually bottom-right) and build your numbers around it. This prevents tiles from getting trapped in the middle.
Keep sharp edges free - Never leave a single tile in the center. Always try to have pairs or the ability to merge quickly.
Plan ahead - Before moving, look at where tiles will end up. Think about the move that might pair two highest-value tiles together.
Corners work best - Align your numbers so they flow toward your chosen corner, creating "snakes" of ordered numbers.

Match small numbers first - Don't wait too long to merge low numbers (2s and 4s). Combining them early gives you room to maneuver.
Know when to retreat - Sometimes it's better to make two moves and reset if you're merging into a corner you can't escape from.
Use the "gap" technique - Create gaps (empty spaces) to reposition tiles efficiently. Gaps are your best friend!
Remember 70-80 is the safe zone - Once you hit 128, plan carefully. Missing a merge at this level can be disastrous.
